From a telemarketing agency in a back room to a leading concern with over 6,500 empoyees
Founded in 1984 D+S has turned in the past 25 years from a small agency for telemarketing into the leading service provider for e-commerce and customer contact management with over 6,500 employees.
A brief chronology: 1984: In an old apartment near Hamburg Dammtor Alexander Duhre and Hans-Jörg Stiens ("D" + "S") found their first joint company.
From cleaning services the young D+S venture quickly follows the road of telemarketing.
1985: The publishing house Gruner+Jahr is the first external client for call center services with a project for the recovery of lost customers. 1999: Opening of Parchim location. 2000: Merger of the companies D&S, Online Retailing Systems AG and Schachtschneider Marketing as new d+s online AG.
Setting up of communication center Frankfurt/Oder.
2001: Opening of Bremerhaven location.D+S staff: 1,755, turnover: 37 million Euros. 2002: Takeover of Itzehoe-based conTakt GmbH with 350 employees.At the beginning of 2003 conTakt founder Achim Plate takes the Chair of the Board of d+s online AG. 2004: Takeover of Münster-based TRIGA Marketing GmbH with over 100 employees.Renaming as D+S europe AG.
Takeover of cca24-dialog center gmbh with about 500 employees at locations in Augsburg and Hof.
D+S staff: 2,402, turnover: 52 million Euros.
2005: Takeover of Mainz-based dtms – Deutsche Telefon- und Marketing Services AG, a leading service provider for telephonic value-added services. D+S staff: 2,927, turnover: 111 million Euros. 2006: Takeover of mobileview AG, one of the largest European providers of mobile value-added services. 2007: Takeover of Heycom Group and entry into the business field of e-commerce management. Setting up of a communication center on Rügen.D+S staff: 5,930, turnover: 232 million Euros. 2008: Takeover of Munich-based Adamicus GmbH, an agency for online performance marketing.Setting up of a communication center in Gera.Takeover of five communication centers of Vivento Customer Services at locations in Berlin, Gera, Leipzig, Göttingen and Rottweil.Participation of Apax Partners with over 91% of D+S shares.D+S staff: >6,500, turnover: >300 million Euros.
