Indeed, the conditions for successful entry into the second largest mobile market in Europe are excellent: mobileview was able to gain an experienced Country Manager for its Italian activities in Salvatore Impastato. Impastato was previously employed for several years at the international service provider mobile 365 and has extensive market know-how and knowledge in the area of mobile services.

The Italian mobile market is seen as extremely lucrative, but also as difficult to conquer. But mobileview experts are convinced that, with local competence, the complex Italian market can be “cracked”. And this entry could prove extremely attractive for mobileview customers, as Christian Ebbecke, Co-Managing Director of mobileview GmbH explains: “Through direct connection with the Italian network operator, we are opening up another highly interesting market for premium rate mobile services for our customers – especially for chat and other pull services, which are currently less widespread in Italy than in other countries.”

With 87.9 million mobile contracts, Italy is the second largest mobile market in Europe. According to the Italy Telecommunications Report Q1/2008, the country is in the lead with an average of 1.38 mobile contracts per inhabitant.
